CABERNET FRANC

An Altitude Cabernet Franc

These vineyards were grown at three different stages, in two parcels, both in Aoura at 850 M altitude. On the mountain facing the Mediterranean, these terraces were built in 2009 and 2012. The story of this wine comes from the winemaker’s youth spent in the Loire valley. Compared to typical Chinon wines, this Cabernet Franc is particularly rich in vibrant fruit due to its Eastern Mediterranean location and relatively higher sun exposure. The grapes are carefully handpicked in the beginning of September and all vineyards are dry farmed. Following the initial fermentation, the wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months before bottling.

** This wine has been rated 90 points in the Decanter World Wine Awards 2017

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby colour. This wine begins with bright red fruits, particularly raspberries and cherries, a gratifying mid-pallet of toasted walnuts and notes of caramel from the barrel ageing. The mouthfeel is velvety with soft tannins with a long lasting complex finish. This is a wine that evolves superbly in a decanter.
